BACKGROUND: Sgt Kern Xilane is a Imperial Army Veteran from the 224th Armored Division of the Imperial Army. He has led a bloody and distinguished career as an Imperial Stormtrooper, with the culminating in him single-handedly attacking and destroying a Wookie Warparty during one of the many Imperial Pacification Operations on Kashyyyk.

Kern's career began on the planet of Mimban. He was lauded by his commanders for his efficient killing of the Mimbanese soldiers during the brutal trench warfare which raged on the mineral rich planet. Although a brutal and deadly killer, Kern is devoted to his soldiers, often risking his own life to guarantee their safety. He is highly respected by the officers he serves and almost revered by the enlisted members who server under him. It is rumored that even the Grand Moff of the sector is aware of his exploits and, were it not for a need of the Sergeant on the front lines, would likely have fast-tracked Xilane to higher positions of command.
