Edge of the Empire: Starting resource is Obligation and it starts at 10. Additional obligation may be taken and for extra XP or Credits but must have narrative reasoning.
Age of Rebellion: Starting resource is Duty and it starts at 10, but Duty must be converted into XP, Credits, or a combination of both before play.
Force and Destiny: Starting resource is Morality and it starts at 50. Additional morality may either be gained or forfeit for extra XP or Credits but it must have narrative reasoning.
Force Sensitive Characters
The campaign is currently set in 7 BBY. Players desiring to play a force sensitive character must take into account the rarity of a Force Sensitive in a post-Order 66 galaxy. The Emperor and Darth Vader's conquest to eradicate all other force users has made the galaxy a dangerous place for any force sensitive. The few remaining Jedi have gone into exile in fear of being killed by the Empire. Any child born force sensitive is subjected to a life of hiding and secrecy, fearing the Empire's malicious agents looking to expose them. This will have to be factored into your backstory.
Hook
It's been 12 years since the collapse of the Republic. The reach of the Empire is far, the shadowy hands of the Emperor hover over the galaxy as the vice of their tyrannical control slowly begins to close. As their reach expands, the necessity for them to clamp harder down on even the most compliant systems becomes common place. Stories and reports from the Mid Rim and Expansion Regions surface of genocides commited by the host Imperial garrison in an attempt to regain control of the sector. The galaxy quivers under the rule, some groups more rebellious than others while others focus on keeping their heads down and staying alive. There are others though, who are sympathetic to the Empire's rule. After years of mismanaged bureaucracy from the Republic which allowed nefarious Cartels and Crime Syndicates seize power the somewhat refreshing tyranny of the Empire is a welcome sight. For the first time in years, there are some regions which are experiencing the illusive calm of peace.
Where you sit in a galaxy divided - but all that's on your mind is where the next meal is coming from. If one thing hasn't changed it's that good work is hard to find and for whatever reason the more blasters that are involved the bigger the payday. You've managed to secure an Imperial shipping contract with the Imperial Army. A cache of weapons and ammunition is being shipped from Balmorra to Barkhesh, an Empire-controlled world in the Outer Rim. The agriworld is fortunately situated between the Corellian Trade Spine and the Hydian Way, its lush farmlands, canyons, and forests providing critical foodstuffs for the Imperial Army operating in the region. The Barkheshi are a peaceful people and although they may not be too keen on their Imperial rulers, the farmers and horticulturalists have little hope of dislodging the Imperial Moff and his garrison.
With Imperial resources in the sector stretched thin, they have been forced to look to private contractors to provide basic security. It seemed like an odd choice for the Imperials, especially given the diverse nature of the companions, but the pay was considerable enough to push the worry from your mind. Your task is simple, sit on the crates and keep any ne'er-do-wells away from the goods and deliver them to Lieutenant Sion Typhe at Tossi City Outpost. You were chartered flight about the Pendren Ark, a hulking freighter which lumbered along the trade spine to your destination. Although the run seems routine you can't seem to feel it was all too easy, the pay too good, and the details too obscure. With a knot in your stomach you careen off in hyperspace, hoping something other than blaster bolts lies at your destination.
